Occupational Justice in the Coalfields
This Inquiry Team is investigating the impact of poor water quality upon the human occupations in the coalfields of Eastern Kentucky. We use the Model of Occupational Justice to guide our work. Currently, we are surveying and interviewing citizens about their outdoor leisure activities to determine what they are able to do in an environment that is badly degraded due to resource extraction (coal, natural gas, oil and timber).
Students are using SPSS to analyze data from surveys and constructing a new interview tool that we plan to use in October.
