Fun Summer OT Class Activities


Every year MSOT Students, in their OTS 836 summer course, travel to Central Kentucky Van and Mobility to learn about safe transfers, mobility and adaptive equipment use in vehicles. Making things fun and interesting, a dress theme is chosen for faculty and students to participate in if they choose.

Successful Big E Welcome 2017

2017 Big E Welcome

Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy faculty and staff participated in Big E Welcome activities Thursday, August 17, 2017. They kicked off the day by cheering on the class of 2021 during the Welcome Walk through the Turner Gate. Later, the freshman participated in hands on activities, facilitated by OS & OT faculty, to help them understand OT's role in rehabilitation.

Students in Professor Kathy Splinter-Watkins OTS 479S Equine Assisted Activity service learning course decorated a picnic table/bench, made by the brother of a student in the class, for their final class project and donated it to Central Kentucky Riding for Hope (CKRH).  All students volunteered 20 – 49 hours this spring at CKRH for the class with either therapeutic horseback riding
