OTS 831 The Place to Be, Creative Expressions section goes “POP”
Following a presentation on Andy Warhol and the birth of pop art, the Place to Be participants were somewhat reticent to accept his work as art. After experiencing the atmosphere of MOMA ( Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art) through projected images, participants were given the opportunity to engage in pop art by coloring a Campbell’s soup label that expressed their feelings. An installation was created with a projected pink slide that included a white MOMA banner down the side. The discussion that ensued during lunch confirmed that POP ART is a real form of expressionism with valid meaning to both the creator and the viewer alike. Enjoy these shots of our installation!
